There has always been a lot of confusion about soy and whether it’s safe or not but there needn’t be…

There is an abundance of research which shows soy is healthful

The research doubting this was misconstrued, related to huge amounts of soy eaten per day or involved animal studies in rats and parrots (which was not reproduced in humans) •

I recommend 2-3 portions a day of (where possible) organic soy products such as soya milk, soy yoghurt, tofu, tempeh. The British Dietetic Assoc confirms this as ‘nutritious, safe and healthy’ & can be especially helpful for the following •

- Protecting women against breast cancer (especially when eaten in childhood)
- Reducing recurrence & death in those who have breast cancer
- Reducing menopausal hot flushes
- Lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol & heart disease risk
- Reducing prostate cancer risk •
How do you feel about trying to include soy into your diet?
