Volite
Made by Allergan, makers of BOTOX (R), it is the first injectable designed to specifically address skin quality and is suitable for treating the face, neck, décolletage and hands.
Composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is naturally found in abundance in our skin, VOLITE is an effective solution to numerous skin ageing conditions.
This is because our HA production, our body’s natural sponge, is integral to hydrating our skin.
However, around one third of our total HA is made and broken down daily and as we age our bodies’ natural ability to regenerate HA slowly decreases.
With VOLITE, you will see strong improvements in skin smoothness, elasticity, hydration and overall quality of the skin, with results that can last up to nine months with a single dose.

How does it work?
Multiple injection points across the treatment area deliver hyaluronic acid which improves hydration to the skin.

How many treatments are needed?
One treatment every 9-12 months.
Is it painful?
No. Most patients receive this treatment without any local anaesthetic. Local anaesthetic is provided upon request.
Down time?
While there is no downtime with Juvéderm VOLITE, we would recommend our patients to avoid wearing make-up post-treatment for the first 12 hours. Apart from that, you can immediately return to your everyday routine.
Risks?
As with any medical procedure, there is a risk of unwanted side effects with HA dermal filler treatments. Most side effects are normally short-lived and often relate to the injection procedure.
Following injection, there may be redness, slight swelling, or bruising around the injection area but these usually only last a few days.
Profhilo
Profhilo is a stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer.
Treatment
How does it work?
As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.
The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
Although the majority of dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is not a dermal filler. The molecule chains of both high and low molecular weight non-animal hyaluronic acid are thermally stabilised and fused together creating a unique patented hybrid complex, to form a gel which spreads and becomes integrated into the skin.
Profhilo is injected into the skin in a specific pattern depending on the area to be treated. Two treatments are required, 4 weeks apart. The first to stimulate, the second to ‘boost’ and ensure longevity. In some cases and depending on your initial skin quality, you may benefit from a third treatment, typically 8 weeks from your second treatment
Will Profhilo work for my skin type?
We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid after we reach 30, and it is at this age that we start to consider preventative treatments.
This is the time when many people would consider their first anti-wrinkle injections as the first lines start to appear. If you are feeling your facial tissue quality has dropped significantly, and that you may look older for your age, but are not ready for dermal fillers yet, Profhilo may be the best treatment for you.

Does it hurt?
Anaesthetic cannot be used and is not necessary for this treatment. The injections sting briefly, but patients generally report only a mild discomfort. After the treatment, you may experience some tenderness for the first 24- 72 hours.
How long does it last?
Longevity does vary between individuals, but results are expected to be gained over a period of 4-6 weeks and last for approximately 6 months. If you choose not to maintain the results with further treatment, your skin will return to its pre-treatment state over time.
